Genealogical and Local History Resources

Looking for long-lost ancestors?  The following list will help you to identify family history resources available at the Conway Public Library. Please note that there are some gaps in the sequence of some materials, and some materials are not indexed. This list is not all-inclusive, but should provide a starting point for most searches.

The library owns many town and county histories, the regimental histories, the Sullivan Papers, New Hampshire Provincial, Town, and State Papers. The cemetery records, Kennett High School graduates, and vital statistics can be found on-line, due completely to the help of our loyal volunteers. * Town Reports and Records for the Towns of Conway, Eaton, Albany, Madison, and Fryeburg, Maine. Town reports contain vital statistcs (births, death, and marriages).

* Kennett High School Yearbooks. The library owns the many years, but please note that there are gaps, especially 1930's, 1040's, and 2000's. SPECIAL NOTE:

CARROLL COUNTY INDEPENDENT is owned by a couple of area public libraries as follows.

Wolfeboro Public Library owns from 1861 through 2006.

Ossipee Public Library owns from July 18, 1924 through 1959. They also own from 1982-2006. Note: 1960 - 1981 was lost in a fire.
